Tools... who said they have to be a 'guy thing'? Girls need them too! Like.. for instance... I keep a tiny screwdriver under the kitchen sink because the door hinge gets a little loose now and then. All I have to do when it is necessary is reach for it and use it to tighten the screws on occasion. I also keep a Phillip's in the cabinet in the laundry room. Who needs to go digging in the garage when it sits nicely and covertly in a corner?
A Hammer? Well.. that I keep in the tool BOX in the garage because I don't need it enough to keep it inside and.. if I did.. lol.. I'd want to keep it in the freezer near the ice packs..no doubt! :)
The thing is we can spend all of our time rooting out the OLD JUNK in our lives with the LORD, but that isn't ALL we need to set about doing. We need to have our own personalized 'Tool Boxes' that we are stocking up on a regular basis with GOOD THINGS! Wisdom, Love, Patience, Kindness..you know.. the Fruit of the Spirit kind of stuff.. and we need the WORD within, Faith, Hope, etc.. (ok.. you get it!)
Titus 2 tells us what to teach to whom, and Proverbs 31 tells about the kind of girl Jesus wants hanging around His House...except He didn't mention she was a Yankees Fan which is a shame. Lol.. Boo! :)
On a serious note.. Jesus talked about the importance of sweeping out a house. I think all of us get that.. men and women.. because I imagine back in His time on earth.. they didn't have fancy floors... at least not in most homes.. they were made of dirt..right? So.. I can see the guys and the gals sweeping and leveling the paths now and then around the place. Now we can see how the "Coin" got lost...or buried mind you.
All things in the Father's House are within a balance.. and getting out the old and bringing in the new are equally important.. or Jesus would not have warned about the spirits that leave.. going into dry places and the possibility of their ugly and more destructive return.
Where do we go to GET these Tools? The Holy Spirit is the Parts Guy for Heaven. He knows just what you and I need to get the 'job' done and He takes us ALWAYS to the WORD of GOD to get them.. then we get to PRACTICE In Real Life!
My advice? Keep some Ice Packs Handy for you and your loved ones.. and those around you. It may take a few times to get the use down.. but it'll come! :)
